10 October 2009 - Thanks to all our Sponsors at Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2009

Our participation at Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2009 attracted fantastic support from a diverse and wonderful range of sponsors.

The amazing hats on the models were supplied by Liza Foreman, milliner extraordinaire based in Wellington (phone 04-565-1877).

Jewellery was custom-designed for the catwalk show and range by Donna Kirifi of Elley Grace with a beautiful glass charm provided in every goodie bag at the show. 

Yves Dombrowsky trading under the name Yves André created the perfume "Africa" specifically for the show. An amazing scent supplied in a glass vial in a presentation pack for each recipient of a goodie bag.  Basquesse' collaboration with Yves will continue on as we look to launch the first Basquesse perfume with Yves.

Plimmer Shoes were kind enough to lend some extraordinary shoes for the catwalk show. Beautiful shoes from Europe and around the world to compliment any occasion.

Frank supplied fantastic refreshments throughout the show for all attendees. The perfect accompaniment in the humidity of the show venue.

The Chocolate Cake Company, Auckland, provided fantastic chocolates and fudge in every goodie bag ensuring that no one went hungry and left the show with a definite smile.

Konev Leather's   involvement with Basquesse has continued on following a recent photo shoot of the Basquesse 2009 summer range complimented by Konev's beautiful leather handbags.  A beautiful leather fob keyring - Basquesse on one side and Konev on the other was a beautiful gift for every goodie bag recipient.  Many thanks to Suzanne de Vere for her help on this project.

The Museum Hotel, Wellington supplied discount vouchers in goodie bags. The Hippopotamus Restaurant at the hotel is truely a welcome taste of France moved to Wellington.  There have been numerous occasions over the past year when Basquesse have worked with the hotel and we're very thankful to Chris Parkin and Kathy Tipler for all their support.

Sauceit produced, at very short notice, some wonderful pens with the Basquesse brand on. Thanks Michele and team for such great work.  For all your promotional needs, you must go to their website !

Mandi Lynn from Alight Photography (currently undergoing a name change) composed the extraordinary image of the cheetah on the front cover of the programme next to model, Elizaveta, wearing one of the runway show's headline pieces.  Thanks too, to Wellington Zoo for allowing us Mandi to photograph Charlie and Delta at the zoo.  Look out for more beautiful images from Mandi to appear in the run-up to the launch of the winter season next year.

..and lastly, but certainly not least, long-time friend Cathy Davys, Australasian Hairdressing Masters Champion 2009, and her team for helping out with the hair and makeup for the photo shoot.  Another fantastic performance and whenever you feel like some serious R & R, head on down to the luxurious day spa at either of the two sumptuous Wellington locations.

17 September 2009 - Basquesse at Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2009

The Basquesse catwalk show at Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2009 featured the spectacular African-inspired "Mara" collection for Winter 2010. We tried to get live cheetahs on stage but regrettably, no local zoos would support such an activity even when held on a lead by trained handlers.  Nevertheless, the garments, accessories and the whole show organisation was a smooth and stylish event.

21 April 2009 - Kirsty Pritchard in Miss Universe (NZ) Pageant Wearing Basquesse Formal Wear

Fresh from her successes at the Wellington Cup Festival in January 2009, local Wellingtonian Kirsty Pritchard has entered the New Zealand leg of the Miss Universe competition taking place this week in Levin, New Zealand. 

Basquesse is pleased to supply some formal wear for the whole week of activities lined up for contestants.  Look out for Kirsty on the tv in the coming days !!

25 January 2009 - What a Result - Wellington Cup Race Day - 24 January 2009

Wellington Cup Race Day on Saturday, 24 January 2009 was a great day for Basquesse at the Fashion in the Field competition. 

We were absolutely delighted with three young Wellington women strutting our garments on the big day.  Huge congratulations to Kirsten Pritchard who took out first place for the Wellington Hat of the Carnival sporting a striking fascinator made by Viviana herself.  



Kirsten also came third in the Contemporary Lady of the Carnival section wearing a beautiful Basquesse silk dress and a beautiful leather clutch bag from Konev leather perfectly complimenting the outfit.  Kirsten was a finalist in the Supreme Winner category narrowly missing out on the BMW for a year !   Kayla Heathcote came second in the Classic Lady of the Carnival competition wearing a beautiful origami silk and silk organza suit from Basquesse. Renee de Ruyter wearing another Basquesse fascinator was also a finalist in the Hat of the Carnival competition and looked stunning in the Classic Lady of the Carnival event.   A great day for Basquesse designs !

25 January 2009 - Models Wanted ! Myer Fashion in the Field - Sydney - March 2009 !

Basquesse has just been invited to take part in the Myer Golden Slipper event in Sydney on March 21, 2009. 

If you're a young woman keen to model in the big event, approx. size 8 - 10, around 178cm tall, we'd love to hear from you !  Ideally, you'd be based in/near Wellington to make it for fittings as required. Basquesse has a strong and ever-growing number of clients overseas so don't think we're just too far away in Wellington. 

Whilst the majority of our overseas clients may be in Australia, to date, we've shipped garments to the USA, the Middle East, the UK and all over continental Europe including France, Germany and Sweden.  Distance is no object so do contact us and we'll see what we can do to serve you.  We've never had problems in sending out garments overseas and we get an absolue thrill knowing our garments are being worn at prestigious overseas events.
